Coach Michael Joyce is the chief instructor and operator of The ChenCenter in Winston-Salem, NC. Mr. Joyce teaches Chen Style Practical Method & Hunyuan Taijiquan, Self-Protection, and is also a licensed massage therapist [NC#06096]. In October 2008, he published what is considered by many as the most concise, sound and logical volume written on self protection; The Golden Thread. Mr. Joyce teaches numerous workshops a year and is currently working on the second installment of The Golden Thread, The Essential Applications (due October 2009). He has nearly two decades of martial art experience and hs been teaching professionally since 2003. He was certified to teach the Chen Style Practical Method of Grandmaster Hong Junsheng and the Hunyuan Taijiquan system of Grandmaster Feng Zhiqiang by world-renown taijiquan master Chen Zhonghua.
